How To Fix A Garbage Disposal In 60 Seconds
In this #DIY 60 second fix, Doug shows you how to fix your garbage disposal it if jams. Did you know that your garbage disposal has its own circuit breaker? See what an alan wrench and a push of a button can do to get your disposal back up and running. Check back next week for another fix from Doug!
1. Use the alan wrench that came with the disposal and find the slot on the bottom in the middle.
2. Move the wrench so that it moves the gears.
Hint: If it stops, that is where the back up is, go the other direction.
3. Once you go at least two full circles, go back the other direction.
Hint: If it goes freely, you’ve taken care of the jam.
4. Push the circuit breaker back in.
Hint: It should have popped out when you were turning the alan wrench.
The electric should now be on and your disposal should work!
