Top 10 Ways To Save Energy In Your Home

1. Change all light bulbs in the home to Compact Fluorescent Lightbulbs aka CFL’s
2. Replace appliances that are not Energy Star rated
3. Car pool as much as possible. Saves money on gas, wear and tear on your vehicle, oil resources, and reduces all the negative environmental impact associated with driving
4. When exiting any room (house, office, etc.) turn off all lights
5. Change your existing thermostat to a digital unit that has several settings
6. Make sure that all windows in the home are closed AND latched. Don’t want any air getting in or out
7. Disconnect any “charging units” when not in use. Although you may not be charging anything, the unit itself will use up energy
8. Bank and purchase online. This will help save on gas, and banking online will reduce the use of paper products
9. Have a Home Energy Assessment done to determine where the performance levels of the home can be raised
10. Lower the temperature on your hot water heater
