How to Prepare Early for the Summer

With summer approaching, the sun is out longer, the days are getting warmer, and the list of things you need to do to be ready for summer is growing. Use this list to be sure you have done everything to guarantee a carefree summer.
Get Your Air Conditioning Ready
Maybe one of the top 5 worst things to happen during a relaxing summer is a broken air conditioner. Avoid having to deal with a broken A/C in the middle of July by inspecting it yourself, if you know what you’re looking for, or call an AC repair company. Whether or not you need a new or repaired air conditioner, you will be extremely grateful to be assured you will not be stuck with warm air in the hottest weeks of the year.
Clean the Windows
A chore that often gets skipped over or forgotten about that should be a priority is window cleaning. As the days get nicer, if you want to open up your windows and dust and dead bugs fall out, it may make you want to never open your windows again. Stay away from this by taking out your screens and cleaning them, and spraying some window cleaner on your windows. Your neighbors, immune system, and eyes will thank you.
Landscape your Yard
While it may be easy to avoid doing this, it can be something that brings your house from an 8 to a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10 on exterior appearance. Pull the weeds, mow the grass, plant some flowers, get rid of sticks, and rusty nails that fell out of things during the winter. This will keep the kids and dogs running around in your yard safe and will also make your yard look gorgeous.
Inspect your Lawnmower and other Summer Tools
Second to a broken air conditioner, a broken lawnmower in the summer months is an awful inconvenience. Take it out on a test run and make sure it still runs correctly. While lawnmowers may not be as expensive as new air conditioning, they are indeed still a pain, so it is very reassuring to know that yours has survived another year. While in your garage or shed, clean out the rest of the tools you haven’t used since last August. Dusting everything off and making sure they are still usable is a massive help in the later months.
Clean Out Medicine Cabinet and Restock
Another thing that seems to go undone is cleaning out your medicine cabinets. It is time to throw away the sunscreen from 2006. Get rid of anything that is expired or a little too old for your liking. After you see what you seem to have very little of, go to the store and restock. Make sure you have the summer essentials like sunscreen, bug spray, waterproof mascara, etc. Having a fresh cabinet full of supplies that you know you have is so helpful on hot summer nights.
To Sum Up
As you can see, you can always enjoy the summer instead of suffering from it if you have a good preparation. Clean your house, take care of your garden and turn your home into a wonderful place with summer parties and interesting activities for your friend and family. I wish you will have a great time in this summer!
