What is the first thing you notice about a house once you drive by it? What is it that draws your eye to look at a particular location? If you have a walkway leading from your driveway to your front porch, consider changing it up a bit; especially if it’s a dirt path worn over time from people using the same area for walking up to your front door. Use a rake to spread crushed stone over the pathway or use patio stones to direct traffic to your front door. You can even build casing out of lumber and use pourable cement to create your own patio stones. Get your children and family members to immortalize the moment by casting their hand in the stones for a memory that will last a lifetime.

Another option is to line the walkway with solar lights that are found at any dollar store, department store or hardware store for a touch of whimsy while doubling as a safety precaution. The bonus thing about these lights is that they cost nothing to run but look great!
